Green Baby – supporting production of Natural, ethical, sustainable product.
"One of the first products I bought for my baby Thomas, was a sheepskin fleece. It went everywhere with us - the fleece held familiar smells which seemed to keep him calm and content.
Throughout history, parents have wrapped their babies in wool to keep them warm and dry. Since 1999 babies from around the world have enjoyed this same feeling of warmth and comfort by using one of our Green Baby sheepskins. In the winter the fleece traps warm air to keep baby warm; in the summer the sheepskin draws moisture away from the body leaving baby cool and comfortable."

1) Machine Washable Green Baby Sheepskins
These generously sized sheepskins/lambskins playmats measure between 80cm and 90cm.
These lambskin fleeces are ideal for baby as a rug to lie on in the cot, or on the floor, as a playmat for a gentle kick about, Jill's son still has his fleece, beside his bed, ten years later!
These sheepskins have been cleaned and sterilised to be suitable for baby use. Machine-washable on a wool cycle at 30°C. It is recommended that you use our Green Baby wool shampoo to wash your baby sheepskin/lambskin playmat to keep the sheepskin rug soft and supple. Our machine-washable natural and coloured sheepskins/lambskins rugs are available shorn to a depth of 3cm.
These lambskins have been tested, in Germany by TUV: produced using environmentally compatible methods, and tested for harmful substances.
2) Natural Mimosa-tanned sheepskin (hand-wash)
Our natural mimosa-tanned baby sheepskin fleece rug has been tanned in the most environmentally friendly way. Tannins are extracted from the mimosa tree in Africa. Mimosa tanning leaves a sheepskin soft and luxurious. The fleece is a paler (whiter) colour than our other Green Baby tanned sheepskins. Hand-wash only. Measures between 80cm and 90cm. Please note colours and textures of sheepskins may vary.
Caring for your Green Baby Fleece:
These natural Green Baby sheepskins/lambskin fleece are simple to care for, any slight soiling we recommend brushing or sponging the fleece, and airing the sheepskin for a short time.
For heavier soiling, your baby's sheepskin can machine washed at 30°C on the wool cycle. (except for our Mimosa-tanned sheepskin which needs to be hand-washed only)
Add Green Baby’s special wool shampoo (with conditioning lanolin) when you wash your baby's sheepskin.
For best results, air dry. Do not dry the sheepskin directly on a radiator or in direct sunlight.
Whilst drying, the sheepskin should be stretched periodically to reshape.
